Gran Turismo 5 Delayed

Word just came down this morning that the long (and I do mean long) awaited Gran Turismo 5 has suffered another setback and will not make its November 2nd release date.  This was the official release from Taku Imasaki, a producer at SCEA:

“We can confirm that Gran Turismo 5 will not be available this November 2nd, but the game’s release will be coming this holiday season.

We sincerely apologize to GT fans for the delay, however, creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches.

We’ll have more information for you in the near future.”

The only real good news that fans can take away from this is that the delay shouldn’t be too long since they will be releasing it this ‘holiday season’.  Hopefully that only entails a delay of a couple of weeks, rather than another month.  This certainly hurts though, the only other game I can think of that gamers have been waiting for longer is Duke Nukem Forever, and even that is finally getting a release.
