Codemasters Online Working On Browser-based Online FORMULA ONE Game

A press release from Codemasters this morning reveals that they are working on a new service-based online FORMULA ONE game.  The press release actually states that Codemasters is actively recruiting talent for a new team that will work on this project, so I can’t say whether or not development as even started.  I’m not sure if this game will be an extension of the F1 series as the press release labels it as unnamed game.  F1 Online would seem to fit if you ask me.  Besides being online, it also is going to be browser-based; something that I’m happy about.  If it’s anything like Quake Live I’m sure the interface will provide a seemless experience for the user; like your not even using a browser.  Here are some words from David Solari, Vice President and General Manager of Codemasters Online:

FORMULA ONE is incredibly popular in many countries around the world, particularly in countries where online gaming is either already big or rapidly growing such as India, Brazil, Korea and China, the potential is clear.

We have proven F1 is a major games brand and what we have planned will build upon that
