Super Meat Boy: Ultra Edition Announced

With the Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco now well underway, game announcements are trickling out. Team Meat announced today that an Ultra Edition of their popular downloadable title Super Meat Boy.  This new version of the game will come in both retail and downloadable form; but the store bought version will, according to Team Meat’s Twitter page, have “tons of awesome extras”.

An image of the PC box art reveals that these extras include a soundtrack, sketchbook, full comic, poster and more.  The developer went on to say that game will be hitting North American retailers sometime this April with a $20 price point.  It will be coming to PC, Mac, Xbox “and hopefully Wii”.  Sorry PS3 owners, but Team Meat’s contract with Microsoft precludes them from releasing the game on any Sony platforms.  Even though there’s no official release date, it’s good to know that you’ll be able to get more meat for your money very shortly.
