The Darkness 2 Pushed Back to 2012

I could throw a cheap pun in here about how dark the future is looking now; but instead, I'll just take the high road and tell you that things are looking bright for Comic-Con. Whoops.

If you’ve been looking forward to unleashing the Darkness this October, we’ve got some glum news for you; Take Two Interactive has decided to push The Darkness II back. Both the console and PC versions are now set to release on February 7th, 2012 in North America. Meanwhile, European gamers will gain access to Digital Extreme’s sequel three days later on the 10th of February.

The blow is softened a bit for anyone planning to attend this weekend’s Comic-Con, as the title will be playable on eight separate kiosks during the show. Attendees will find the demo at the Top Cow booth (#2629). There will also be a panel called “Spreading The Darkness: From Comic Book to Video Games and Entertainment,” held on Thursday the 21st from 12:00 – 1:00 pm. Staff members from both Top Cow and Digital Extremes will be present to listen to all of your complaints about the delay.
