Angry Birds Developer Wants to Become a Publisher

Rovio wants to play with the big boys.

You know Rovio.  They made that one game Angry Birds and then several similar versions of it.  Now they walk around with an undeserved sense of accomplishment because they think they revolutionized mobile gaming.  Yeah, that Rovio.  They now want to actually do something worth talking about, so they are in talks to become publishers.  This is all speculation by the way, because they have not confirmed that they will but they have said “we have some plans for this area, but [we are] not ready to announce yet”.

Rovio has raised a mighty 42 million in a new investment fund for an undisclosed reason.  It is speculated that the games that will be published by them will likely be mobile games.  Let’s just hope they do not end up being a bunch of Angry Birds clones, or worse, other games about angry animals.
