Mario Kart 7’s 3DS Wheel

It looks like a toilet seat with buttons.

Everyone was probably wondering when handheld systems would get to this point.  It’s finally happened: a Nintendo employee decided that it would be a good idea to glue a wheel to a 3DS.  They had all those leftover wheels from the Wii that no one bought (because they don’t, you know, do anything), and so they thought: “Why not?”  Maybe that’s not how the process went down, but it’s about the only series of events that MTB could imagine leading up to this monstrosity being brought to life.

This exciting, and possibly nausea-inducing accessory will be available on December 1st in Japan.  The price will be 1280 yen (about $17).  There are no official plans to bring the wheel to North America, but, knowing Nintendo, there’s a good chance it will happen sooner or later.  Be warned, this accessory may be more embarrassing to use than gluing your 3DS to a frisbee… but at least the official version is glue-free.
