Fans of the early Resident Evil (RE) games were promised an RE experience that would remind us of the first games in the series with the upcoming 3DS game, Resident Evil: Revelations. Sure, Resident Evil 5 had action and excitement (which Revelations will reportedly also have), but it lacked the looming creepiness that was present in earlier titles.

What looks to be different from the new games, but similar to older titles, is the atmosphere, which is pulled together by the visuals. The 3D graphics will likely help in creating eerie settings for the new title, starring Jill Valentine and a new protagonist. From the look of it, the game will feature the same sort of amazing graphics seen in Resident Evil: The Mercenaries, but it will not suck half as much as that game did (we hope). It should be noted that the images and video presented are rough, and the final product will presumably look a lot better – especially when seen in person with 3D turned on. Resident Evil: Revelations will release on February 7th, 2012.
