Worms Revolution to Feature Worm Classes

Worms Revolution will have a class system!

Worms Revolution, slated for a quarter 3 2012 release, will feature a class system that is brand new to the series.  Four classes will be available: Soldier, Scout, Scientist, and Heavy.  There will a total of 16 available worms to unlock (four per class) which will allow them to take any combination of the different classes into battle.  Now, some more about the classes…

The Soldier is the standard worm from previous Worm games.  This class is good at attacking and traversing the landscape, but has no real specialty.  The Scout is fast and agile, but has a weak attack power.  Being small, the Scout is harder to hit with ranged attacks and he can fall further.  Being small also means he’s susceptible to melee attacks a lot more than other classes.

The Heavy is the most powerful class in the game, but has a large disadvantage when it comes to speed.  While he can’t reach certain parts of the landscape without a special utility, his large size makes it harder for him to get knocked off of it.  Last but not least is the Scientist, which is a support class.  Although he is weaker than the other classes, the Scientist raises the health of the entire team with every turn he takes.  He can also build stronger items like Sentry Guns and Electromagnets.  Look for Worms Revolution later this year.  Team 17 has noted that the release will be for PC and consoles, but which it will be on hasn’t been specified.
