Duke Nukem Forever and Ever

He's Back Again, Baby?

Duke Nukem is definitely a product of his time, and I think somewhere over the fifteen years Duke Nukem Forever was in development someone should have agreed to pull the plug on it. Just the same, no one did, and we ended up with…  Well, let’s just say that the stone bust of Duke that came with the collector’s edition was the coolest thing to come of that game.

Gambini and Mikko Sandt weren’t content to let Duke go out with that kind of a whimper, though. Taking the E3 2001 trailer as inspiration(including riding the donkey), they’ve created a five level mod for the game that brings Duke back to his Duke Nukem 3D roots. This looks more like the sequel that fans of the game from 1996 were looking for.

For the discerning gentleman who likes shooting pig-men and tipping pixelated strippers, the mod is available from Mikko Sandt’s site. Duke Nukem 3D is available from GOG.com.
