Double Tap #68: EVO Japan 2018

February 1st, 2018

Once again the Double Tap team has been on the move and although far apart they still find time to tackle the Fighting Game Community updates. Having a guest from time to time they bring in Gabe “Static Gorilla” Medina freshly off the EVO Japan hype. CrashTag Talks travels in Japan as Mezza talks about life in boring old America. Blazblue Cross Tag Battle updates their information on DLC and particular costs.

Pokken Tournament DX releases Aegislash earlier than expected and Dissidia finally releases in America. The team talks about expectations on Oswald joining the KOF XIV roster and Nakoruru having no bird? for SNK Heroines Tag Team. Dragon Ball Fighter Z has a crazy moment of unleashing loads of tech and Mezza gives a break down on his mindset of the direction the game will be going. The game has also been data mined and see how CrashTag feels about the leaked lists of possible characters. Soulcalibur VI gets a nice treat with Groh, Nightmare, Kilik, and Xianghua joins the fight.

Fighting Ex Layer has been under wraps but still dishing out characters as they present Jack aka Cracker Jack from the original Ex layer. Capcom does another collab with monster hunter series and Street Fighter V. Costumes have been released for a chance to earn through battles. In “Randoms of the FGC” the team talks Esports owners and direction with the new owners. Arbys cant resist Yamcha’s death with curly fries. AtlasBears picks up Poongko right before EVO Japan.

As always Mod Highlights are on fire this week with BrutalAce giving us a Morrigana as Chun Li. Monkeygigabuster throws us some Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite X fusion mods and Armored Venom!

Video gaming runs in his blood and competition plagues his mind. From the earliest days in the now extinct arcades, to the eSports competitive scene, he looks forward to the next game to test his skills. No stranger to rising salt levels.

Got his start gaming with his two cousins and brother at his aunts house. They had to always play in secret, but he fell in love with fighting games when he got his first taste of an arcade in Maryland. Now looks to grow the community.
