Alisaunder from the Hunting Party Podcast is back to go over several of the emails she has sent in over the last few weeks that Nick and Katie never quite got around to answering. First, Alisaunder talks about helping her friends level up and the benefits to world quests. The topic inevitably turns to mounts. and items that should be converted to mounts. Katie meanwhile has been busy running her 23 characters through the Headless Horseman daily in her quest for the mount and also get the full horse costume that was added this year. Speaking of Hallow’s End, Nick mentions that Episode 4 from last year was the episode where we talked about the Headless Horseman.

The first email is not from Alisaunder. Its from Scott and he brings up the topic of how we control sentient mounts. Katie talks about how Goblin’s are cool with controlling other minions, and this leads into a discussion about how players could work with creatures and minions instead of just dominating them. This leads into a discussion of how we are terrible to our class mounts, and hunters, warriors, and death knights are all abusive to them. The trio then discuss how Azeroth’s heroes are not always heroic, including Alliance Paladins.

Alisaunder’s first email begins by questioning Illidan’s motives and his future after Legion. Illidan seems determined to dominate Sargeras, and Alisaunder questions whether or not he can or whether or not he should. Nick compares illidan’s obsession with Sargeras to Maiev’s obsession with Illidan and wonders if he’s capable of learning from other’s mistakes.

The next email from Alisaunder is about women in Warcraft. They discuss the development of Thalyssra throuhout Suramar. They also talk about Jaina possibly being a focus of the next expansion, and Nick argues that the lack of development for characters like Jaina and Sylvanas is more impactful because they are currently missing. Katie wonders if the members of the panel will hint at which characters will be in the upcoming expansion. What happened to Jaina after the start of Legion will be very important going forward. They they speculate whether Christie Golden’s new position at Blizzard will lead to a change in the portrayal of women.

Alisaunder’s next question is about the Old Gods, and whether or not Magni is listening to Azeroth or not. But first, they talk about cosplaying as a validated Doomsayer. Alisaunder gives her predictions for Blizzcon predictions. She also wonders who the Dark Lady is that the Forsaken are always talking about. Its assumed to be Sylvanas but what if its not? This leads to a discussion of how the void can be a plot point that ties several unresolved issues out of Legion to fit together narratively. They also discuss Warcraft’s primary narrative arc going forward since the Burning Legion will not be such a significant threat after Legion. They also talk about the fate of the Order Halls, and Alisaunder brings up her WoW 2.0 theory.

Also, Nick will be hosting Pod Before the Con, part of Con Before the Storm and World of Podcasts, on 10/30 at 9:00 pm E on twitch.tvconbeforestorm and on Alpha Geek Radio. Check it out!

Hosts

Nick Zielenkievicz

Host of WoW! Talk! and The Tauren & The Goblin. Sometimes known as the Video Games Public Defender. Wants to play more Destiny and Marvel Heroes but WoW is all-consuming. Decent F2P Hearthstone player. Sad that he lost the Wii that had Wrecking Crew on it. Would be happy if the only game ever made was M.U.L.E. Gragtharr on Skywall-US. Garresque on Ravencrest-US.
