After much speculation, Doomfist is finally here! Unfortunately for us, Doomfist was released on the PTR the same day that we released our last episode, so we didn’t get a chance to talk about him until now. His move set definitely sets him apart from the rest of the group, as he is primarily a melee character, and very reliant on his abilities. Rein is also a melee character, but Rein’s main job isn’t to hop into the middle of a fight and mix it up. Doomfist combines power with agility, and if allowed, can do upward of 600 damage in four seconds. Things are definitely going to get mixed up a bit.

Despite being happy with getting a new character, Jaa isn’t too fond of Doomfist. Melee combat isn’t something he’s interested in for FPS. Both Rob and Anthony like the character and plan to play him. We also discuss Jeff Kaplan’s stance on character balance and how it affects meta, as well as talk about the high levels of toxicity we are seeing in season 5. The group offers some solutions to deal with those people.
