Nick, Rei, and Eric are back to talk about all things WoW this week. First, Rei and Eric have been running their alts through Nighthold and even playing with some listeners! (Thanks, FireandIceGodz!) Nick is excited because he got his warlock mount and his warlock hidden destruction appearance, and he’s making progress on the hidden appearances for his other specs, when he isn’t passing out while running timewalking dungeons.

Ion Hazzikostas and Josh (Lore) Allen did a patch 7.3 dev q&a this week. Nick mentions that these usually happen about two weeks before the patch goes live, and it seems that the schedule would have 7.3 going up on 8/29, just before Legion’s first birthday. No expansion has provided regular content for over a year, so Legion is truly special. In the Q&A, Nick talks about how 7.3 will have 5 chapters released over 3 weeks. Nick is most excited about Artifact appearances no longer requiring certain appearances in use to be unlocked, as well as appearances being made available beyond Legion.

Legion Invasions on the Broken Shore will stick around past 7.3. Order Hall champions will have catch up mechanics. The Netherlight Crucible brings reforging to relics. There are no more artifact appearances coming. The gang discusses whether Mythic + dungeons will exist for Legion content after Legion or if they will remain max level only. Spend all your nethershards now as they will not be used for anything in 7.3. Also, updated Worgen and Goblin models are coming eventually!

Nick detours quickly into the Newsbites to get to what he wants to discuss. A Legacy server was recently shut down after 4 hours because it was set up under US jurisdiction. Also, the Luminous Starseeker mount and Twilight pet are available on the Blizzard store. This has driven the price of the WoW Token over 150,000 g in the US, and the WoW Token is now worth more than Venezuelan currency. Nick liked the WoW Token when it was only useful for buying your WoW subscription, and the fact that the price has gone up has made it prohibitive for him to keep funding his game time that way. He thinks that the subscription time should be available for a set gold price separate from the WoW Token now that it can be used for so many other things.

Ways to spend the WoW Token are only going to get worse when Blizzcon rolls around, as Mike Morhaime has mentioned Blizzard has several incubation teams working on new games. Nick expects these games to start to be revealed around Blizzcon. Also, Jaina was announced as the key art for Blizzcon. Nick rants about Jaina’s characterization, and how people hate her and her arc while events are still happening to her. Rei finds a picture showing how Jaina has aged through the years.

That wraps up this week’s WoW! Talk! Come hang out with us on our next live show 8/20 at 10:30 pm EST at https://www.twitch.tv/wookieebh
