It seems Intel will be bringing out new processors in the coming months. They will also be lowering the price of a few models currently available online and in stores.
Tom’s Hardware reports:
“According to DigiTimes‘ sources at motherboard companies, Intel will be rolling out new desktop options along with some lower price points. Supposedly coming this month is the hexacore Core i7-970 at $885. Also this month will be a pair of Core i5 chips, the i5-870S and the i5-760 at $350 and $205, respectively. Then in August, a Core i3-560 will debut at $138, while the Core i7-950 will fall from $562 down to $294.”
This is great news for gamers! The availability of the i7-920’s and i7-930’s has been great thanks to online stores. The fact that Intel will be lowering the price of the i7-950 just tickles me with joy!! It will be roughly the same price as the i7-930 which is currently available. The month of August will be a great time for many of you hardcore PC gamers to upgrade your current system to a i7-950 with 6GB of Triple Channel Memory, as well as an Main PCB to take advantage of the dual (or more) 16x PCI-Express Channel!
I hope you’ll be able to upgrade and take advantage of this great news!
