A Tweet this morning from the Battlefield Heroes Twitter account announced that the DICE team’s newest project will be going into a 2-stage beta titled “Battlefield Play4Free.” Stage 1 is the closed beta that will begin on November 30th and Stage 2 will be the open beta that will arrive early 2011 from the information found at the Battlefield Heroes forums. Check out the trailer at the end of this news post. Applications for the closed beta are now open so click here to drop in your e-mail address for a chance to get in. Battlefield Play4Free™ is a new, free to play game from the same team that brought you Battlefield Heroes™.
Set in the modern theatre of war Battlefield Play4Free is a first person shooter with realistic graphics. It has many of the most popular features of Battlefield Heroes, like visual customizations, leveling, abilities and more.
The first invited players will be entering the Closed Beta on November 30th, with Open Beta following early 2011.
This does not mean we are abandoning Battlefield Heroes! We continue to work on Heroes while we develop Battlefield Play4Free and we sincerely hope our fans and community will play and enjoy both.
Between now and the start of the Battlefield Play4Free Open Beta:
