Some new information on inFAMOUS 2 and our favorite human Pikachu, Cole, was released. The first thing people can count on is a release date. inFAMOUS 2 is scheduled to unleash its raging storm on June 7th, 2011. Not only did they announce a release date, but they also went ahead and announced that depending on where you pre-order the game you will get different special downloadable content exclusive to each place.
Just in case you really wanted to bash your enemies’ heads in with some bling, if you pre-order from Amazon.com you will receive a code to download a 24k Gold Amp. If you just feel performing evil tasks doesn’t sit right using Cole, maybe a change is required to truly unleash evil upon the city; by preordering from Best Buy you will receive a code for a Kessler skin, the big nemesis from the first inFAMOUS. Maybe you’re feeling a bit more power hungry. Well GameStop has a preorder special that gives you a code to download the Lightning Hook. This allows Cole to pull enemies and other objects toward him. Fingers crossed, he will yell “Get over here!” when he does it. So maybe the tether isn’t explosive enough for you. If you pre-order at Wal-Mart you will receive a code for the Electrocution Grenades. These are not like the grenades from the first game; they hold down the enemies with arcing lightning and then explode like the 4th of July.
Now some people might think it’s a bit unfair that everyone is going to get different things, or some people might want all of the special items. Fear not for this is where the HERO Edition of the game comes to save the day. In this collector’s edition of the game you get the game as well as what seems to be all the special pre-order items that the retailers are offering. But wait, there’s more! The HERO Edition also comes with an 8.5 inch statue of Cole in his new style for Infamous 2, the DC mini comic of the first Infamous, a code for the soundtrack of inFAMOUS 2, and last but not least a sling pack modeled after Coles sling pack that he carries around throughout the game. The HERO Edition will sale for 99.99 (msrp). Time to start saving money because within 4 months everybody can be destroying streets and causing chaos throughout the city of New Marais.
