Amazon had been whispering for a while about creating their own app store to allow developers to publish their own apps. It was later mentioned the new Angry Birds Rio game would be a timed exclusive for the Amazon App Store for awhile as well, just no one knew exactly when the store would be open for business. Today, I got an e-mail about 11:30am CST from Amazon saying the store is open to the public and to entice people to check them out, there will be a free paid app every day. To kick the store off, Angry Birds Rio is free only for today (a savings of $0.99). Just know that to install the Amazon App Store for Android and the games/apps from there, you need to have your Android device set to enable installing from unsigned .APK files. If you own an Android phone and you like Angry Birds, what are you waiting for?! Go download it!
