Avalanche Studios Announces Renegade Ops

Just Cause developer's latest project is a military shooter.

Swedish developer Avalanche Studios today announced that its next release will be a downloadable title named Renegade Ops.  The game will be published by Sega and released on XBLA, PSN and PC.  Sega stated that the game will be a military shooter that features single player as well as both split-screen and online co-op for up to four players.  Gamers will take control of a vehicular unit of commandos that battle it out with huge guns from behind enemy lines.

In addition to those brief game play details, Sega offered the following insight into the world of Renegade Ops:

Unleash your full arsenal of weapons and destroy anything that stands in your path as you battle to protect the free world in any way possible. Madman Inferno, the commander of a sinister terrorist organisation, has detonated a devastating bomb to demonstrate the power of his new deadly weapon. Furious at the world’s leaders [sic] decision not to fight against Inferno, General Bryant has recruited a crack team of military specialists, known as the Renegade Ops, from around the globe to wage war against Inferno’s promise of world domination.
