Q Entertainment Designs Corset Peripheral

Wacky concept controller created for Child of Eden.

During a Kapow! Comic Con demonstration, Tetsuya Mizuguchi of Q Entertainment discussed an oddball peripheral for use with the upcoming game Child of Eden. The unit holds four controllers which vibrate in time with the game’s music. Which is, um…yeah. Anyhow, the development team is currently using the corset to play Eden but there are no plans for a retail model. That’s probably best, as players look wild enough when waving around playing the game as is.

Still, this isn’t the first time that Mizuguchi’s studio has rolled out a wacky peripheral. Rez had the optional “Trance Vibrator” available as an option in Japan. The unit vibrated in time with the game’s music and players were encouraged to sit on it. By comparison, the corset almost seems tame.

What do our readers think? Would any of you actually want to buy the corset if it made it into production?
