It’s been over ten years since the first Airline Tycoon game graced our presence in several different versions. For fans of that game, or for those who are afraid of plane rides, you will soon be able to take to the skies once more with the sequel Airline Tycoon 2. Kalypso Media will be releasing this game later this year, but have provided some new details and screenshots for you to enjoy.
Announced along with the game itself are a number of features for those gamers who can’t get enough Tycoon games in their lives:
- Build your own ideal fleet of planes – create mass transit for the every day person, or “luxury jets for the elite”
- Choose one of four different avatars that have their own strengths and weaknesses
- “Explore your airport in full 3D”, while directing employees and expanding your territory.
- Surprise events in game add some spice to your normal routine such as requests from The Pope, natural disasters, and civil unrest in a popular location
Although fans of the original Airline Tycoon won’t be able to get their hands on the actual game until later this year, hopefully the new screenshots released by Kalypso Media will help smooth over the wait.
