Yesterday Paradox Interactive showed off the first footage of gameplay from BattleGoat Studios’ new real-time strategy game, Supreme Ruler: Cold War. BattleGoat has previously crafted their games around present day conflicts and possible future conflicts through their first two recognizable games: Supreme Ruler 2010, and Supreme Ruler 2020. Not known for their graphical intensity, fans of the Supreme Ruler series instead choose to appreciate the franchise for its deep strategy elements and unique pacing.
After having seen the trailer for the upcoming title, it doesn’t look like the graphics have stepped up as much as some gamers would like, but perhaps there will be some new gameplay depth to make up for it. However it’s a bit too early to tell whether or not Battlegoat can make up for the visual fidelity by creating a satisfyingly deep entry into its niche franchise.
