Teaser Trailer Reveals New Sonic Game

Sega's blue blur racing to consoles in 2011.

In celebration of his 20th anniversary, Sonic the Hedgehog will be appearing in a new game for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Sega did the unveiling today on its Facebook page by releasing a fifty second video. The teaser shows the speedy little guy running and jumping through a world that mostly sports a sort of grayish-bluish environment that has been drained of the bright colors which only appear on the path that Sonic is taking. Sega’s mascot speeds through one of his trademark loops and leaps through the air before being joined by… himself. Do these two Sonics imply some sort of multiplayer mode? Has Sonic been cloned? Has he found his long lost not-so-evil twin brother?

None of these questions are answered, so let the wild speculation begin!  Given the poor track record of Sonic accomplices – Big the Cat, we’re looking at you – giving  gamers a copy of the one character that is unanimously liked might not be a bad idea.

No official details were provided and the game’s title is still a mystery.  Sonic’s latest will be hitting sometime in 2011.
