Nintendo alerted the media today that they will be holding their annual E3 pre-show conference on Tuesday, June 7 at 9AM PST. That’s twelve noon for those of us out here running on Eastern Standard Time. The setting will be Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre.
Nintendo has already confirmed that Super Mario 3DS will be showcased during the event. It’s also a safe bet that titles such as The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Mario Kart 3DS and the soon-to-be-released 3D remake of Ocarina of Time will get their share of time in the limelight. Maybe we’ll finally get that Pikmin 3 unveiling too, maybe. More importantly, Project Cafè will make its highly-anticipated first public appearance.
It’s a pretty much a given that the Kyoto, Japan-based publisher will have some surprise announcements in store for us as well. And it wouldn’t be a Nintendo press conference without some whacky new peripheral announcement. Hopefully the Stream controller covers their unquenchable thirst to present us with such things; we’ve got all the white plastic we need already, Nintendo.
Nintendo will be the last of the big three to hold their 2011 E3 conference. Microsoft’s conference is set for June 6 at 9AM PST, with Sony’s coming later that day at 5PM PST. It’ll be interesting to see if MS and/or Sony make any mention of their next home consoles in advance of Nintendo’s big announcement the following day. With less than one month until the big show, there’s precious little time remaining for Project Cafè rumor-mongering to run wild. To the internet, fanboys!
