Call of Juarez Introduces Co-opetition in Latest Trailer

Is that even a thing? It is now.

There used to be an embeded media player here, but it doesn't work anymore. We blame the Tumbeasts.

In Techland’s Call of Juarez: The Cartel, three players will work together at working against each other. Makes sense, right? The concept, cutely nicknamed “Co-opetition”, is actually one that we’ve seen in other shooters. Human players are all fighting on the same side, but they’ll receive special side challenges through in-game text messages. So everyone will work towards a common endgame, but you’ll be jockeying against each other in a sort of meta-game. We already know that this kind of thing can be a lot of fun when implemented properly, but the jury’s still out on the new name. The Cartel will release for Windows, 360 and PS3 on July 19th.
