E3: Next Super Smash Brothers Will Duke it out on Wii U and 3DS

Fracas, skirmish, altercation, quarrel or ruckus will smash its way onto two platforms at once.

Although the company was not yet ready to show us anything, NCL President Satoru Iwata made an announcement today regarding the next Smash Bros. game. Smash Bros: Brew-Ha-Ha (not actual name) will release for both the 3DS and Wii U and the two versions will work together “in some fashion”. If that sounds vague, it’s because work on the project doesn’t even sound like it has begun yet. Series creator Masahiro Sakurai is still hard at work on Kid Icarus: Uprising, but was so enamored with the Wii U and its potential for interaction with the 3DS that he just knows he needs to get on that. At the mention of this news the live audience went absolutely berserk with excitement. If nothing else, this company sure knows how to put on a show.
