Sony Files PS Vita Trademark

European filing adds even more credence to the rumored final name of the NGP.

On May 30, it was rumored that Sony would be renaming their next-gen NGP handheld the “PlayStation Vita”.  Today it was unveiled that Sony has filed for the name Vita with the Trademarks and Designs Registration Office of the European Union.   They have trademarked the name and logo for both PlayStation Vita and PS Vita.  With Sony’s E3 presser just hours away (8:00pm EST), we’re going to know whether or not Vita is the name very shortly.  At this point, the evidence is pretty convincing that it is.
