Sega and Three Ring's game Spiral Knights gets Steam Powered!

Awhile ago, Sega did a very soft release of Spiral Knights to the world and it went about its way quietly in the realm of Free-to-Play MMORPG’s.  Now Steam and Sega have partnered up to revitalize Spiral Knights by injecting some Steam Achievements.  As an added bonus, players who give Spiral Knights a whirl before 12pm Central Standard Time on Thursday (6/16/2011 will get a free Mist Tank and a free “Spiral Sallet” helmet for your Team Fortress 2 account (as long as you get the “Mission Accomplished” achievement for the helmet).  Steam is featuring 4 more Free-to-Play games all week with more free perks to come.  Check out Sega’s official press release about the Steam injected features that are now in Spiral Knights!

SEGA® of America, Inc. and SEGA® Europe, Ltd. have announced that Spiral Knights™ is now available for download on Steam, the top digital distribution platform worldwide. The retro-styled, online action-adventure game now offers the benefits of Steam’s robust community and technical features, while still remaining free for players everywhere. To download the game on Steam and start diving into the Clockworks of Cradle today on PC and Mac, visit the Steam store.

Spiral Knights pits players against the creatures of Cradle, where they must fight to survive by scavenging materials from the ever-changing dungeons beneath the surface. The game features:

* Intuitive pick-up-and-play controls (including both mouse-only and gamepad control)
* Opportunities for players to create guilds, craft new gear, and customize the looks and abilities of their characters
