Xenoblade Chronicles Gets Special Edition… in Europe

Also, a release date has been announced and a new video shows off English (think UK) voice-overs.

There used to be an embeded media player here, but it doesn't work anymore. We blame the Tumbeasts.

While Operation Rainfall has kicked its campaign to bring Xenoblade — and two other high-profile Wii JRPGs — over to North America (NA), Nintendo has all but laughed in their face.  True, The Big N did say that they appreciated the enthusiasm, and that more updates would come soon, but this probably isn’t the kind of update that the rain men had in mind.  Xenoblade — previously confirmed for an ambiguous 2011 release in Europe — will be hitting that side of the pond on September 2nd.
Even more insulting to NA gamers, is the fact that Nintendo of Germany has announced a limited edition that comes with a red classic controller pro packed in.  Burn.  But wait, there’s still more degradation to be had for Rainfall operatives; Nintendo has put out some new footage that contains UK voice work.  Yes my fellow [North] Americans, Nintendo hates us.

I’m being facetious, of course, but it would certainly account for them blatantly going out of their way to not bring these hotly-anticipated role playing titles to our shores.   Wii owners have probably noticed that they’re getting Zelda and Kirby this holiday season and not a whole lot else.  It’s still well within the realm of possibility that the three games will eventually arrive at a retailer near you and I; but if that’s the case, we here at MTB would love to know what the heck is taking them so long.
