There used to be an embeded media player here, but it doesn't work anymore. We blame the Tumbeasts.
The creator of Katamari, Keita Takahashi, had some particularly strong thoughts on how dull he perceived the gaming industry to have been prior to launching that franchise. Thus he and his team delivered several wonderfully absurd Katamari titles that allowed us to roll up anything we pleased. After leaving the world of gaming for a spell, it seems he has teamed up with developer Tiny Speck to work on their free-to-play MMO, Glitch.
The massively multiplayer online game revolves around a peaceful world where everything is created by the players. Sounds like there are some similarities that can be built upon here for Takahashi. But since the game is currently in a tightly-controlled invite-only beta, little else is known about it. That being said, you can watch the video above to find out “what this game is.” Gameplay looks to involve plenty of platforming with healthy doses of community features and micro-transactions. And of course, there’s the aforementioned smurf-ram hybrid; which actually comes off as fairly normal if you played Katamari.
