Super Mario Meets Silent Hill?

Or does it actually meet Resident Evil? You be the judge.

Now, I’m currently (and sadly) beginning to hit my late twenties, which means I played Mario on the original Nintendo Entertainment System and Game Boy.  Encounters with goombas and turtles were often troublesome to overcome back in the day, but I wouldn’t go so far as to call any of them dangerous.  As the games progressed you were eventually pitted against turtles that could throw hammers and goombas that could fly, or even plants that could shoot fire at you.  These perversion in this art from Buzzfeed, however, go beyond that entirely.  Some of these look like Resident Evil abominations of some sort, and others could very well have made it out of the horrifying depths of a Silent Hill title!
