Auctions in SMT: Devil Survivor Overclocked

Going once, going twice, SOLD!

There used to be an embeded media player here, but it doesn't work anymore. We blame the Tumbeasts.

Atlus sure does like to rerelease their games on handhelds, but every time they do they make some really good improvements to their games. Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Suvivor Overclocked is the 3DS version of the DS game Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor with added features and options. The trailer above shows off a very interesting new feature to gain demons on your side. Devil Survivor Overclocked will be getting Auctions added to the game play mechanic.

In an Auction you can bid for demons to add to your roster. The player can dig through the demons up for auction, and check the stats and abilities. Once they find one they like, they go into a bidding war. The player will bid until the timer runs out, and then they are given a final chance to put in the final bid. Whoever bids the highest gets the demon. They not only showed off the auctioning, but they showed off a classic game play element to most Shin Megami Tensei games, Fusion.

Fusion is where the player is allowed to fuse their demons to make better stronger demons. This has always been a needed step to survive later encounters with stronger creatures. The fusing is simple and addicting; especially if you’re trying to collect all the demons in the game (good luck). Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked is set to release August 23rd, and it’s looking to be an amazing addition to the 3DS library.
