New 3DS Ambassador Details

Game save, manual and multiplayer info inside.

On September 1st, early adopters of the Nintendo 3DS who accessed the eShop on time will be rewarded with the first wave of free games from the Ambassador program. In all, twenty freebies will be handed out to the Ambassadors before year end with some NES releases hitting first.

For these NES titles players will receive in-game manuals running down the controls. Full blown manuals will be made available at a later date. Initially, players will only be able to suspend play via the “VC suspend” feature. Full blown saving/loading functionality will come later as the “Restore Point” feature is added in. Wireless multiplayer will also not be ready to go until the update comes along.

Conversely, the GBA titles will have full manuals right from the get-go. “Restore Point” and “VC Suspend” will not be included with them. Rather, players will rely on the original in-game save mechanisms. Finally, there is no sleep mode for the GBA releases, so you have to save and shut down rather than just closing the lid.
