Nintendo of America Monitoring Xenoblade’s European Performance

Reggie says that NoA will keep a close eye on what the JRPG does across the Atlantic.

The party poopers over at Nintendo of America announced a little over a month ago that they had “no plans” to bring Xenoblade, The Last Story or Pandora’s Tower over to North America. That announcement rather upset the already-enraged Nintendo fans in North America that had started the Operation Rainfall campaign in an attempt to convince the Big N to bring the games here.

In response to questioning from IGN today, Reggie Fils-Aime made a commented that implied the publisher has not completely ruled out a North American release just yet. “We will be watching very closely what happens in Europe,” Fils-Aime told IGN. “Certainly if there are business opportunities and positive consumer uptake from some of those titles, that will be great data for us to consider as we look at what to do with these titles.”

Keep in mind that this is confirmation of nothing more than NoA keeping an eye on sales of the games. However, the fact that they are monitoring the situation is certainly better than nothing.
