Rage on Steam This October

id Software confirms that their FPS will use Steamworks.

Bethesda Softworks, publishers of id Software’s Rage, have revealed that the FPS will release on Steam and take advantage of Steamworks. “Since folks are asking… we can confirm that RAGE will use Steamworks on PC,” reads the Beth Blog’s Tweet on the matter. That ought to make PC gamers happy.

The funny thing about it is that Rage was originally being published by EA – who would have certainly put the game on Origin instead of Steam had they retained publishing rights – before Bethesda’s parent company, Zenimax Media, purchased it. The shift away from EA Partners is solely responsible for the game arriving on Valve’s downloadable platform.
