Amy is a downloadable survival-horror title heading to the PSN, XBLA and PC this fall. You likely have not heard or seen much about it, as it has had little marketing behind it to power hype. Realizing this, publisher Lexis Numerique has delivered some details and videos on the PlayStation Blog. The vids aren’t actual gameplay footage; instead, they show off the incredible detail on the faces of characters Father John and Professor Raymond.
The game, set in a 2035 Earth that is facing catastrophic disasters courtesy of global warming, is all about facial expressions. Main character Amy is autistic, so she will not scream in terror when the horror portions of the game get going. The publisher claims that gamers will nonetheless know when danger is near by reading the emotions on her face and in her body language. There’s good reason to be scared in addition to the natural disasters, too, as a viral outbreak has transformed some members of the populace into “horrific monstrosities.”
We’ll have to wait and see how the characters look during actual in-game action, but the renderings alone are certainly impressive for a PSN/XBLA title. Lexis promises that more details will surface in the near future.
