Transmission T²: Weapon

The U.S. postal service has gotten some...interesting self-regulation recently

‘Weapon’ was created by Imagos Films for the Windie City Shootout, a 72 hour film race. And everything — writing, shooting, editing, mixing, mastering, scoring, and the final delivery — was done within those 72 hours. The organizers also had a prop, line of dialogue, and location set that had to be integrated in each submission. For the first annual contest, the location was a body of water, the prop was a photograph, and the line of dialogue was, “How could I know it wouldn’t fit?”

From that random combination was born ‘Weapon’, which deals with postal workers having a deadly new form of self-regulation. Let’s just say you don’t want to be caught stealing on the job. There’s rules, you know.

There used to be an embeded media player here, but it doesn't work anymore. We blame the Tumbeasts.

There’s clearly a 1984 vibe from the experiment being performed, and smatterings of influence from video games and Battle Royale in the film. There’s also an exceptionally creepy element to the after credit sequence, and the idea of a ‘civil management methodology’ like Weapon being used at all in the first place, much less being released into the general populace.
