Wargame: European Escalation Screens Shows That Ugly War Can Still Look Pretty

War! What is it good for? Answer: Entertainment

Whoever said war is ugly might have meant ugly on the inside because these screenshots of Wargame: European Escalation sure aren’t bad looking.  Wargame: European Escalation is being developed by Eugen Systems; which may sound familiar to fans of the RTS genre for game such as R.U.S.E. and Act of War: Direct ActionEugen is promising a realistic, yet spectacular visual experience.

Their goal was to produce a photo-realistic rendering of the battlefield, so they paid close attention to rendering explosions, lights, and raging fires.  You know, the important stuff.  Also, there will be 300 highly detailed playable units which are said to be modeled faithfully to their real-life counter parts.  According to the press release, you will be able to zoom down to the smallest bolts and tank threads.  We shall see.  In the meantime, however, you can check out the screenshots below.  And let us know what you think while you’re at it.
