Ninja Gaiden 3’s Revised Ninpo System Offers Reward for Risk

We anticipate an "om nom nom" dragon meme at some point.

A bit more info has been released about the upcoming Ninja Gaiden 3 and its combat engine. As has been detailed before, franchise fans can expect the same ol’ slashing-and-dashing combat engine with a more visceral approach. In addition to blades now getting stuck in bone and muscle, leading to potential instant kills against would-be aggressors, series protagonist Ryu will now be able to use his Ninpo magic powers to restore his health mid-battle.

How, you may ask? Well it seems this time around, players will be able to transform the endless power of Ninpo to turn Ryu into a fire dragon who can then eat his foes. The twist here is that the more enemies the player takes out before executing the move, the more health will be returned to Ryu. Of course there’s a bit of a risk/reward to this mechanic as the longer you wait the better the chance you’ll get your stupid self killed. We at MTB will have more info about Ninja Gaiden 3 as it is released.
