Dead Island Receives a Substantial Patch

Better living (and undead bashing) through free updates.

As any Dead Island fan can tell you, it’s not the game’s technical polish (or, in the case of the PC version, stability) which draws friends together for zombie-based carnage. Developer Deep Silver has resolved many of the initial bugs and glitches since the game’s release, but there’s a new patch out today which fans should take note of. In addition to increased stability for co-op and technical improvements, there are also a ton of core gameplay mechanics refinements. We’re not going to list them all, but here are a few highlights:

  • Level cap raised to 60
  • The kick ability now requires stamina to use (no more spamming the stomp)
  • Weapon crates now contain improved rewards
  • New weapon mods have been added

There are just some of the more dramatic details of the update. All of the patch notes can be read here.
