Three Silent Hill Games in 2012

Scared yet?

Yes you read that right. Three games are set to be released in early 2012 according to a recent press release from Konami.

The Silent Hill HD Collection, containing remakes of  Silent Hill 2 and 3, is set to release on January 24th to start off Konami’s wave of the series’ release list for the upcoming year.  The dialogue has also seen an update, and while the two sides of that fan debate rage on, we’ll be on the sidelines not holding our breathe on it necessarily being “better.”

Following right behind the HD collection, Silent Hill: Book of Memories for the Playstation Vita will be arriving sometime this coming February.  This one looks pretty interesting so we’ll be watching this one as it progresses.

Then last, and certainly not least by any means of the imagination, is Silent Hill: Downpour.  Set to release sometime this March, the title is sporting some impressive graphical detail and attention to atmosphere and all around “Creepy” factor.  Fans have been waiting quite a while for this one so it will definitely be one to keep an eye on.

This is a large batch of Silent Hill goodness in a pretty short period of time, so hopefully that doesn’t affect the community’s response to them in anyway; but that remains to be seen.  With all of these Silent Hill titles coming at us like a crazed lunatic in a pyramid mask, first quarter 2012 is looking like it’s gonna be pretty damn scary.
