Xbox 360 Dashboard Update Going Live December 6th

Your Xbox will be getting a new look and fresh features in two weeks' time.

Major Nelson finally divulged the official release date of the Xbox 360’s dashboard update today. The updated will be available to all 360 users on December 6th. The dash is currently being tested in beta form. We’d love to tell you all about the specific details, but Microsoft has told us to keep our big fat mouths shut in that regard. The good news is that they’ve summed it all up for you in handy-dandy bullet form:

  • New personal and social features including Cloud Storage for Game Saves and LIVE Profile
  • Beacons and Facebook Sharing
  • Enhanced Family Settings
  • Integrated voice and gesture controls across the dashboard and in apps
  • Bing voice search (Available this year in the US, UK and CA)

On top of all of that; new apps for music, internet vids, sports, and TV will be incrementally rolled out starting when the update goes up. Specific details about said apps were not unveiled.
