Alan Wake’s American Nightmare Coming Mid Q1; Getting New Mode

Come inside to see the new extended trailer previewing "Fight Til Dawn" mode.

There used to be an embeded media player here, but it doesn't work anymore. We blame the Tumbeasts.

Remedy Entertainment revealed today that their XBLA exclusive, Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, will be releasing sometime during the middle of Q1. MTB has been able, through the usage of extremely complicated proprietary algorithms and extensive lab testing, to breakdown that information to come to the conclusion that Al’s next game is likely coming in February.

The main campaign will involved Alan squaring off against some nefarious individual by the name of Mr. Scratch, as was previously revealed through the VGA trailer that debuted on December 10th. Scratch is a supernatural being out of the Night Springs TV show that players could watch clips of in the first game. He’s also a serial killer and Wake will have to fight through the armies of darkness in his pursuit of him through the Arizona desert. The bastard has some evil plans for Mrs. Wake, which is sounds an awful lot like the plot from the first game.

In addition, Remedy also revealed a new mode known as “Fight Til Dawn.” It’s definitely a variation on the popular horde modes that have become so omnipresent in shooters over the last few years, even though the developer is referring to it as an “arcade mode.”

Players will have to “survive a full night of enemy onslaughts while racking up their score” in Fight Til Dawn. You’ll have access to many of the same weapons and tools from the first game, as well as new ones like a nail gun. Online leaderboards and unlockables will also be present.
