Nintendo Shows Off a Bit of Kid Icarus’ Multiplayer

Tis' the season to try to decipher videos spoken entirely in Japanese.

There used to be an embeded media player here, but it doesn't work anymore. We blame the Tumbeasts.

Nintendo has spoken about Kid Icarus: Uprisings’ multiplayer component in passing before, but a new trailer now fills in some of the finer points of the upcoming 3DS game. Unfortunately those details are entirely in Japanese. On the plus side, the above footage does show off quite a bit of gameplay.

There are some details we do know, however. Kid Icarus will contain two multiplayer modes: a 3v3 match and a free-for-all setting. In either mode, players will zip around arena-based levels while grabbing power-ups and beating the crap out of one another. While we doubt it’ll be anything deep or richly rewarding, it looks to be a fun addition to the upcoming action title.
