Nintendo has confirmed to Official Nintendo Magazine U.K. (ONM) that other ten games from the 3DS Ambassador Program will be made available for the year comes to a close in a few weeks. Their official statement overrides rumors that emerged out of Spain last week alleging that these free GBA titles would not be doled out until 2012.
“The forthcoming 10 GBA Virtual Console titles available for registrants of the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Program will be available before the end of December 2011,” a Nintendo of Europe spokesperson told ONM. “We will make further announcements in due course.”
Nintendo divulged what half of the ten games would be, but held back on revealing the final five. The games they identified as part of the program are as follows:
- Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3
- Mario Kart: Super Circuit
- Metroid Fusion
- WarioWare, Inc.: Minigame Mania
- Mario Vs. Donkey Kong
The Ambassador Program was announced as a “thank you” of sorts to early adopters of the handheld by Nintendo Company Limited President Satoru Iwata over the summer. Things didn’t go so well for Nintendo’s 3DS at launch, and so the manufacturer responded by slashing the price in an unprecedented short amount of time after launch. So humbled by the move was the Kyoto, Japan-based company that they decided to give away 20 games to those that registered a purchased system early enough.
Things have been looking brighter for the platform in recent times, as Nintendo of America announced that it had already sailed passed the DS’ first year sales in just over eight months.
