Sega Delays Anarchy Reigns

Fans will have to wait a little longer for Platinum Games' brawler.

Platinum Games, who was recently revealed to be the developer behind Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, isn’t going to be able to deliver Anarchy Reigns as quickly as they initially intended. Publisher Sega has revealed that the game has been officially pushed back to July 3rd in North America. Australian and European releases will follow on July 5th and 6th, respectively.

The reason for the delay is not entirely clear, as Sega was a bit cryptic about that. They have apparently “decided to take a little more time to deliver the full knockout punch,” said Senior Vice President of Marketing Gary Knight. “I can’t reveal much now, but it’s something to do with scale. Let’s just say traditional one on one or two versus two fighters will be a thing of the past…”

So… two on one battles then, Sega? All joking aside, it’s apparent that Platinum will be upping the number of combatants per battle; and that’s taking them some extra time to accomplish.
