The Darkness II Features Four Player Co-op

Take Two announces Vendettas mode with a new trailer.

There used to be an embeded media player here, but it doesn't work anymore. We blame the Tumbeasts.

Jackie’s coming back on February 7, 2012 (February 10th internationally) in The Darkness II, and this time he won’t be going it alone. Take Two has announced that the game will feature a four player cooperative mode in which each player will take on the role of a unique character in order to tackle missions that run parallel to the game’s main story. Co-op, known as “Vendettas,” will also have a mode called “Hit List” that permits players to replay sections of the main campaign should they so desire.

Each of the four characters will have their own exclusive set of powers. Inugami brandishes a samurai sword and has the ability to summon forth mini-demons to do his bidding and mess up his foes’ day. Shoshanna works for Moshad (Israeli Intelligence Agency) and can take down the baddies with her Arm of the Night weapon that simultaneously blasts off multiple rounds. Jimmy Wilson is a drunken Scotsman (seriously) that charges into battle with his Dark Axe in hand. The axe affords him the ability to call Darklings that he likes to call “Little Jimmys” (also seriously) into the fray.

Finally, there is the New Orleans native, J.P. DuMond. J.P. has a little voodoo problem and uses his Midnight Stick to push back hordes of nerds during midnight game releases the forces of evil. He also has a black box known as the Box of Tricks, but we’re not touching that one.
