Alan Wake for PC is Finally on its Way

Late to the party.

Alan Wake

The Xbox 360 version of Alan Wake came out in Spring 2010 and was received well by critics who gave it high scores.  Almost a survival horror game, Alan Wake places players in the role of a best selling thriller writer who has been suffering from two years of writer’s block.  Alan Wake travels to the town of Bright Falls with his wife on a vacation, and completely freaks out when she expects him to do some writing on said vacation.  While out on an angry walk, he hears his wife’s screams as she is abducted by some sort of lake monster.  Clearly, he will need to get her back, or people will start to ask questions.

This interesting game has an interesting twist with regards to how you must disperse the enemy, using both a flashlight and a firearm.  Apparently Mr. Wake did do some writing, as a mysterious and horror filled novel comes to light that he can’t remember writing. If you want to spoil the game experience, we did review this game when it came out; you can read it here.  Otherwise, the PC version of the game will be available February 16th via Steam and later via other digital channels.  There will be a boxed retail version, but it does not have an official date.  The price for the standard copy via Steam will be $29.99, while the Limited Edition copy will be $34.99.
