Aion: Ascension Launch Date Announced

Time to fly.

NCSoft revealed some new details about their newest update to the Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game, Aion.  In this 3.0 update releasing on April 11th, called Aion: Ascension, players will be able to play with no subscription or purchase requirements.  A new, never-before-seen system for microtransactions called Customizable User Bundling Experience (or C.U.B.E.) will allow players to bundle purchases.  The C.U.B.E. will be sold for a standard price from the Aion store and will vary in sizes.  Players can then get as much as will fit in their C.U.B.E.  If a C.U.B.E. is pre-purchased on April 4th the player will immediately get their new items on April 11th.

Other additions in the 3.0 update:

  • Atreian Atlas is another new feature being added which is an “always-on, benevolent, veteran gamer willing to help players throughout the game.”  This atlas is basically an walkthrough designed for your character, telling you what quests you might want to do; it will also have interactive maps and video guides.
  • The level cap will be increasing to 60.
  • Two new zones and six instances will be added.
  • Mounts are also finally coming so you won’t have to run everywhere.

Cathy enjoys playing video games to relax/escape from a long day. She really likes puzzle games as well as games that have a strong female lead. She is also kind of a poor gamer (as in money), so she tends to pick her games carefully. That way she can get the maximum fun for the cheapest cost.
