So, as it turns out, the Baldur’s Gate countdown was not a lead-in to a new game but rather for the remake of an old one. Details are few, but the game is being called Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition and will be handled by Overhaul Games, who was responsible for the HD version of MDK2. According to a newsletter dug up by Vox Games, the game will be released this summer. There is no word on what platforms the Enhanced Edition will be released for.
Oh well, there go my hopes for a new game set in the Baldur’s Gate universe. Maybe next time.
