New content and a free to play weekend.

Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad

To celebrate winning PC Gamer’s “Multiplayer FPS of the Year” title, Tripwire Interactive has decided to release a Game of the Year Edition Free Content Pack for those who already own the game.  The pack will automatically download for those that own it.  The content pack includes an Action Mode which features a crosshair, recoil that is toned down, easier aiming and reduced damage.    Classic Mode is also included and blends elements from the current game with those of the original, which is sure to please fans of the first game.  In addition to improvements to little things here and there such as vehicles, there will also be a new map: Mamayev Kurgan which features battles in close quarters such as bunkers as well as those across the famous hill in Stalingrad.

Red Orchestra 2 will also be free to play for everyone on Steam starting at 10AM Pacific time on May 24th and lasts through May 27th, so don’t miss out on your chance to try out the game.
